Enzyme Biotechnology

Deputy Head: Dr. Do Thi Tuyen

The Enzyme Biotechnology Lab (EBL) was established from the Enzymology Lab (EZL) and Enzyme Technology Lab (ETL) on April 2007.

EZL was established in 1993. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dao was head of EZL from 1993 to 2001. Dr. Dang Diem Hong was vice head from 2000 to April 2004. Prof. Dr. Quyen Dinh Thi was vice head from April 2004 to December 2006 and is head of the Lab since then.

Service

Establishing enzyme activity assays to detect the presence of enzymes or estimate enzyme activity of commercial products including feed, food, drugs and cosmetics

Creating recombinant and engineered strains for research and production

Identification of gene mutations and organisms

International Collaboration

EBL has established international collaborations with international laboratories: Dr. Rita Grosch, Institut für Gemüse- und Zierpflanzenbau Großbeeren / Erfurt, Prof. Schaefer, University of Hamburg, Germany; Prof. Bernhardt, University of Saarland, Germany; Prof. Matsuo and Prof. Nishio, University of Kobe, Japan.

Dr. VO Van Hanh worked from January to March 2010at the Institut für Gemüse- und Zierpflanzenbau Großbeeren / Erfurt e.V.

Dr. NGUYEN Nam Long did his PhD degree at Biocenter Klein Flottbek und Botanic Garden, Department of Biology, University of Hamburg, Germany from 2005 to 2008, supported by a bilateral collaboration program between BMBF (Germany) and MOST (Vietnam): VNB04/B05.

Dr. TRAN Van Khanh, former EBL member, had done her PhD degree at University of Kobe from 2000 to 2006.
