TRANSPORT TO & FROM THE HOTEL

The organizer will only pick participants up at Noi Bai Airport from 13h – 15h, November 28th, 2011 by our private bus.

If participants could not arrive during that time, you will be met upon arrival at the Noi Bai International Airport by our staff who holds a board with “The 8th Biomass-Asia Workshop” written on it; they will assist you to call a taxi and request the driver to go to the destination, the Centre for Women Development Hotel (CWD).

For our best preparation, please note that you should send us your flight schedule before November 20th, 2011.

In case you have to take a taxi by yourself to go to the Centre for Women Development Hotel (CWD) hotel, you should take one of many taxi groups such as Airport Taxi, Noi Bai Taxi, etc.,and show the taxi driverfollowing information of the Centre for Women Development Hotel (CWD)

Participants who booked with us in the registration form, will be staying at the Centre for Women Development Hotel (CWD), Hanoi at www.women-bds.com

Located near Westlake, the biggest lake in Hanoi. 10 minutes to Hanoi Old Quarter by Taxi and 35 minutes for Noi Bai Airport. The Big Hotel for big group with deluxe services 24/7.

Check out from 12h to 15h: charged 30% rate of one day

Check out from 15h to 18h: charged 50% rate of one day

Check out after 18h: full day charged

In case after check out, you want to go somewhere during the waiting time, CWD will keep your luggage at the reception for free

MEETING ROOM

  The first 02 days of the workshop will be held at the Meeting Rooms of Centre for Women Development Hotel (CWD).
MEALS
 You will be provided with Breakfast at the CWD Hotel and lunch at the Workshop.

Dinner on first day (29th) will be provided for all foreign participants and only some Vietnamese VIPs by one of the Workshop organizers, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).

Dinner on second day (30th ) will be provided for all participants by one of the Workshop organizers, New Energy Foundation (NEF) as Evening Mixer which is aimed at matching participants and exchanging information

COFFEE/TEA BREAKS

 Coffee and tea will be served, each morning and each afternoon at the meeting venue

BANKING

 The Hotel does not have a bank but there is Vietnam International Bank (VIB) at the same building where you can exchange money. The working time is from 8am to 4pm on daily work.

In case you need emergency but the bank closes already, please contact the cashier at the reception for the exchange service. They can exchange a small amount of money for you.

Please note that the cashier will only exchange your money (only USD) to Vietnam dong (VND) currency and not vice Versa.

If you would like to exchange currencies such as Japanese Yen, Thai baht, Malaysia Ringgit, Indonesian Rupiah, etc., it is recommended that you exchange money (convert the currency) at the airport after you arrive in Hanoi.

However, it would be much easier to exchange if you bring USD

SECURITY

 Hanoi is rated as one of the most peaceful city of the World. However, like many other cities in the world, there is sometimes its own share of personal security problems and you are advised to take the necessary precautions to avoid being the victim of crime:

Incase you wish to leave the hotel, leave your valuables at the hotel safe and only carry small amounts of money

Only use recognized taxi services (This can be arranged from the hotel reception)

Keep your belongings carefully when walking in the crowded streets.

COMMUNICATION
The International Dialing Code for Vietnam is + 84 and Hanoi area code is 04, followed by the number. Time Zone: Hanoi Time Standard Time is 7 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+7).  You may purchase local SIM cards at the airport or in other stores at a cost from 2 – 5 USD, depending on each Service Provider.

The weather in Hanoi is currently moderately cool, very pleasant. Participants are advised to carry light warm clothing and an umbrella for variable weather conditions. Please check online for weather updates
